Born in Manila, Philippines, Martin Aquino was one of those few people consistent in bringing the deep house sound to what he considers the “fatuous folks of The Philippines”  (whom some might consider as victims to unintelligent dance music). It was after experiencing what he considered a lackluster scene there that Martin decided to help change the course of the house music scene of Metro Manila by introducing his signature style of deep groovy house.

Shortly after his initial encounter with House music, Aquino began collecting records , having found himself a deep appreciation of the sound being played in thr local club scene. It was however at an event in 2001 in Makati, Philippines hotspot Seveneightorange that he came to the realization that he too would become .After scoring his First gig and acquiring residencies at some most cutting edge night clubs in the area he started to look across the pacific at San Francisco for more inspiration and it was here that he encountered the deep funky beats what would become his signature sound. Martin then proceeded to grace Manila hotspots such as Embassy Superclub, Mati, Temple, and even the lush island of Boracay with his superb selection of tracks and excellent mixing skill.

    Having moved to San Francisco in 2006, Martin was able to showcase his skills at numerous hotspots. Co-founding the Red Monkey crew, Mr. Aquino had a vision of contributing something profound to the house music scene. Along the way, Martin then met Pheeko Dubfunk (Swank Recordings) and Frenchy Le Freak as they teamed up to be residents at the prestigious afterhours destination – Insomnia.

      To his credits, Martin has played alongside with Miguel Migs, Franky Boissy, Tedd Petterson, Hector Moralez, and Massimo DaCosta to name a few. As this wonderboy continues to grow and enhance his craft, we can only guess where the direction of his Music will take us.  The future is bright for this boy has got some aces up his pressed cotton sleeves.  With the splendid balance of great passion and sharp intuitive skill with reading a crowd, Those of us shaking our asses on the dance floor can enjoy and anticipate whats to come.
